Minister of Commerce PAN Sorasak meets with Minister of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Aung Naing Oo to boost trade and boost economic recovery

INDONESIA: Minister of Commerce PAN Sorasak met with Myanmar Minister of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Aung Naing Oo on Wednesday (May 18) in Bali, Indonesia.

Minister PAN Sorasak welcomed and thanked Minister AUNG NAING OO for supporting Cambodia as chair of the 2022 ASEAN Economic Ministers' Meeting.

The Cambodian and Myanmar Ministers exchanged views on economic and trade progress in both the regional and bilateral frameworks, aiming to increase trade volume and promote economic recovery.

Aung Naing Oo praised Cambodia for its recent success in negotiating a bilateral free trade agreement between Cambodia, China and Cambodia and Korea. Minister Aung Naing Oo intends to expedite the conclusion of discussions on the draft Cambodia-Myanmar Investment Agreement and the negotiation of the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement.

The two ministers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening and expanding economic, trade and investment cooperation in both the bilateral and ASEAN frameworks.
